Over 90 years young and still going strong!

The Hutt Valley Singers began in 1933 as the Upper Hutt Home and School Association Male Voice Choir. Over the decades, we’ve evolved with the times, but one thing hasn’t changed — our passion for music and our place in Upper Hutt’s vibrant cultural scene.

In 2004, we became the Hutt Valley Singers, and in 2010, we welcomed our talented Musical Director, Joanne Roelofs. Joanne has led us with energy and expertise, accompanied by the wonderful Frances Potter. We are a friendly, vibrant community choir based in Upper Hutt, welcoming members from across the Hutt Valley and beyond. If you love to sing, we’d love to have you!

Our mixed choir brings together people of all ages, capabilities and backgrounds to enjoy singing in four-part harmony (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass). We learn, laugh, and make great music, all while forming lasting friendships. Our music is as diverse as our members; we try and mix it up for each concert and can range from classical pieces to modern-day Disney songs.
